The road to photography was not a direct one. Born in Bogota, Colombia, Jaime "Nisso" Chalem started his "career" as an amateur photographer at the age of 9 photographing airplanes and airplane parts at the El Dorado Airport. In 1982 at the age of 11 he immigrated with his family to South Florida.

While adjusting to his new lifestyle, Jaime's love for photography and aviation continued to grow leading to his first career, an airline pilot. Traveling all over the globe allowed Jaime to grow as a photographer, allowing him to photograph people and parts of the world he would have never been able to otherwise. After the unfortunate events of September 11, 2001, Jaime was laid off from his airline job and decided that it was time to pursue his initial love, photography.

As Jaime began to venture into his new career, the more he shot, the more he fell in love with it. Shooting anything (people, places, products, pets... you name it), allowed Jaime to grow into a well developed rounded photographer.

When not photographing, Jaime is an avid student of mixed martial arts, surfer and gym rat, but readily admits he is never without his camera!
